On April 27, 2025, 98 participants from around the world walked a collective 523 miles in support of hearing loss research and community programs. What began as a small local event in Los Angeles grew into a global movement through an inclusive virtual format. Youth, adults, and seniors across four countries, including the United States, China, and some in Europe, joined in solidarity for a brighter future for the hard-of-hearing community.
Hear Our Steps combined my passion for running with my growing advocacy for hearing health, a cause that personally affects me and millions of youth worldwide. The event raised over $2,000, with all proceeds going to the House Institute for hearing loss research and to SELPA in Los Angeles to support low-income students with hearing disabilities.
